Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered was announced a couple of days ago and while a $9.99 fee for PC owners of the complete edition might not annoy many there's another catch sure to get a rise among many others. Within the fine print, Sony has indicated that the upcoming remaster will require a PlayStation account.

I already have all the accounts I want.

I will never sign up for any account to play any game.

If I can't play it as is using my Steam or GoG accounts, I'll just pass.

If it is an important enough title to me I'll just use the "community edition" in protest.

D4mn straight.

And no more double-account bullsh1t. I already had to sign into Steam (or GOG if using Galaxy) to access the game, so why do I then have to sign into another account?!

At least Microsoft makes signing into a Microsoft/Xbox account optional for their games on Steam.

I'd be more open to a mandatory PSN account if there were some benefits to it; Say, cloud-saving between PS5 and PC.
