Stellantis has unveiled the 2025 Ram 1500 REV, Ram's first battery-electric light-duty pickup truck, and it's got some pretty exciting specs. According to a press release that was shared following its introduction at the New York International Auto Show, the Ram 1500 REV features not only a 14,000-lb. towing capacity and support for payloads of up to 2,700 lbs., but also the ability to travel up to 500 miles on a single charge thanks to an optional 229 kilowatt-hour large battery pack. Ford's 2023 F-150 Lightning features a range of up to 320 miles per charge, while the Tesla Cybertruck is expected to feature a similar, 500-mile range whenever it finally releases.

Well, you can pack enough batteries on anything to get XXX-mile range. It's more a matter of how much it costs per mile. Eventually you get to a point of where the weight of the batteries starts to work against you, so there are diminishing returns there.

Although, with truck prices lately, a 6-digit sticker price probably isn't a bridge too far. Even the F-150 Lightning has seen huge price increases since it's release, and it's almost impossible to find a truck that isn't a high-end package at ~vastly~ higher than the MSRPs you see for the base models.

I don't think Ford made a single Lightening in anything other than Limited and Platinum trims. And they're all $100k+ trucks.

I doubt Ram will make anything less than Limited, with most being Tungsten trim's and every truck will be north of $100k to start. At least for the first 2-3 years.
