I don't either. I think the only way this could work is if it's a new story set in the Mass Effect universe. That said, after Rings of Power and given the state of Hollywood entertainment in general, I don't have faith in them.

I'm not sure why everyone brings up the First Contact Wars like that's the given that everything should focus on. It's come up for prequel ideas and other games, and I just don't get that.

There is less than .1% chance it will be a direct adaptation of the story from the games. Holywood writers hate 1 : 1 adaptations because they want to leave their own skidmarks on everything they touch.

Let's be real, in the current day I expect Cerberus will be huwite supremacist yatzis, comically evil and stupid be the main villains. Reapers
won't even appear because they deem general audiences too stupid to comprehend them.

To be honest, I think it would be perfectly fine not do Shepard's story in the TV show and feature another protagonist and another story set in that universe.

Would definitely be safer, given that there are significant player choices that reverberate through the series. Honestly I think they'd be better off just not even going there.

I agree. People have way too much of a personal connection with Shepard in that people who played the trilogy all have their own version of that character. Anything that doesn't measure up to the players vision for the character will be met with criticism. Not only that, but given that everyone's version of the character is different, its impossible to please everyone with a version we'd all agree on.

But seriously most choices in the game only affect if a side character will have a cameo in the next game.
