AMC theatergoers who want the best seat in the house may have to pay more money for that privilege going forward. According to a press release, the country's largest exhibition chain is about to roll out "Sightline," a new initiative whereby ticket prices are determined based on seat location. Front row seats will be available at a lower price, while seats in the middle of the theater will be available at a higher price—a scheme that may ring familiar to those who also regularly attend music concerts, sporting events, and/or Broadway shows. Sightline launches this Friday at select AMC locations in New York, Chicago, and Kansas City, with an expansion to all domestic AMC locations expected by the end of the year.
