October is really gearing up to be a great month for AMD fans. According to a listing spotted at Indian retailer MDComputers, the as-of-yet-unannounced Ryzen 5 3500 will launch October 5. It's priced at 11,199 Indian Rupees (INR), which is about $157.

If the rumored specifications are accurate, this chip should give Intel's Core i5-9400F some serious competition in the marketplace. The Ryzen 5 3500 will reportedly come with a 3.6 GHz base clock, 4.1 GHz boost clock, and 16 MB L3 cache.

Early benchmarks reveal that the Ryzen 5 3500X is faster than the Core i5-9400F. We don't expect that to change with the Ryzen 5 3500. Even though the non-X part only has half the L3 cache, the difference in performance should be very little. Strangely enough, JD.com has the Ryzen 5 3500X for $153.74 while M D Computers is listing the Ryzen 5 3500 for a $157.51.

The 45w Zen2's are stuck in extreme EPYC demand hell. : )

Also if we're talking rumoured CPUs, then the 3900 non-x which might just be a 3600 but with twice the cores, sounds like a killer CPU for around 400 dollarydoos.

I'm liking the release of the lower-end Ryzen 5's. They'll provide a good upgrade over my current system, with room to upgrade later on. For too long, to get any sort of appreciable performance increase I would have had to purchase top-end components. Glad that computer tech has finally progressed where I don't have to do that. Helps justify spending money on the new system.

Yeah, that's probably it. They keep denying that there is a TSMC supply issue, but I don't buy it.

If you can live with the lower per thread performance :p
