AMD News Roundup: Zen 6 Benchmark Scores Spotted, FSR 4.1 Could Arrive Soon, RDNA 5 Could Receive Dual Processing Updates

How much of that will be for us consumers in the end. Fingers crossed!!

And on the laptop CPU front. I've wanted a solid amd laptop for a while but they've just been like hens teeth getting to find one in a store where you can get hands on. And corps are more willing to go apple than amd still.

I gave up on gaming laptops.

Unless you need the performance for something other than gaming - and Apple isn't an option for whatever reason - they just don't make sense.

If it needs to do computer stuff and be portable, 'light' gaming is good enough IMO. Anything more is a progressive exercise in frustration.

I tend to agree. My last and current laptop is not a gaming centric device. I wouldn't even use it for 'casual' gaming to be honest. I also don't play any light twitch gaming stuff.

I know I'm an outlier here but I like having a gaming laptop. I've posted links to my latest in a few places here so I won't do it again but that beastly thing ought last me for a good long while and is relatively quiet as they go since it's hardware is a bit overkill in most cases.

That being said I snagged a stand from Amazon a while back for my last one that looks a bit like a tv tray with adjustable, folding legs and had preinstalled cooling fans. I went ahead and replaced those with 2x 200mm Noctua black fans I had laying around and added a USB adapter with fan control. I mainly use this setup for when I want to game and lay in bed to give my back and legs a rest.

Otherwise I'll use the laptop for when I want to hang out under backyard gazebo (1500 nits 18" display really handy here) or when I go to visit the folks and I might play for a little while they nap.
