It wasn’t that long ago that 5.0 GHz was considered the upper limits of a 4C/8T processor, but those days are gone. An overclocker has taken the new Ryzen 3 5300G APU to 5.6 GHz on all cores with an ASUS ROG Strix B550-I Gaming motherboard, 16 GB of DDR4 RAM running at 4,600MHz, and exotic cooling. This is quite the achievement, as the processor has a base/boost clock of 4.0 GHz/4.2 GHz. With a TDP of only 65 watts and rumored price of $159, this APU looks promising for those on a budget.
