AMD has uploaded the official sell sheet and reference guide for its upcoming Radeon RX 5500 graphics card, which is being positioned directly against NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 1650. According to a performance chart, the RX 5500 will provide up to a 49% improvement in AAA games (and a 37% improvement in popular eSports titles) vs. the competition. Its placement between the RX 5700 and RX 560 (an uncomfortably large gap) suggests that AMD will be announcing even more Navi variants soon.

Notably, AMD has removed any references to RX 590, 580, 570 graphics cards in these latest marketing materials. That raises the question of this trio of cards being phased out shortly. Perhaps the big blank where these cards should reside (and the competitor GTX 1660 variants) is shortly to be filled by a new Navi offering(s) and AMD can't mention it right now as these products are yet to be announced.

All that remains to be known is the pricing, well and actual reviews and user testing. I'm wondering if AMD is going to bring out a 5800 series and drop the 5700 to destroy nvidia in the $200-300 range.

Hopefully they'll drop this in at ~$180-200, it would be a very competitive buy with the performance and power consumption; plus it just looks very clean with the all black and single axial fan design. Was going to be replacing a 590 and 570 with 1660's, but these could take that spot given the proper pricing and power consumption.

It kinda scares me when they start cherry picking the results out.. "in AAA and eSports titles"

Those are the titles that will push the sales; as with any release, waiting for valid reviews is always good.
