AMD Radeon RX 6700 May Only Feature 6 GB of Memory

AMD’s upcoming Radeon RX 6700 graphics card could feature considerably less memory than its more powerful siblings. The rumor stems from a screenshot shared by KOMACHI_ENSAKA, which shows a recent filing made by ASRock alluding to a Challenger D OC model with only 6 GB of VRAM (RX6700 CLD 6GO). While that reference has since been scrubbed from the official EEC site, it does open up the possibility of select Radeon RX 6000 Series GPUs having even less memory than NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3070 (8 GB) and GeForce RTX 3060 Ti (8 GB).



ASRock’s EEC filing also suggests that AMD will be introducing Radeon RX 6600 XT graphics...

Without good texture compression or upscailing it's going to be an issue in some games especially at 1440p which was the rumored resolution.
 
This should be fine considering the other specs of the card. If 1440p is the limit of expectations then 6 GB should suffice for most games. Granted there will be exceptions but the pricing will be what could make it competitive and that's where AMD usually shines for this segment.
