AMD released its new 23.2.1 Adrenalin Edition driver for Radeon RX 6000 and Radeon RX 7900 Series GPUs this week, and while a complementary article has done well to advertise the performance gains and added features that users can expect from the update, there is apparently some more to that. According to new testing that has been shared online, AMD's new driver also grants a significant boost to ray tracing performance, with one Radeon RX 6800 XT owner, Beards & Chips' Florin Musetoiu, sharing 3DMark results that include a boost from 26.2 to 36.2 FPS. This is a nearly 40% improvement over the previous driver, according to some publications.

Well, that is promising. Makes RDNA2 a whole lot more viable.

Still probably wouldn't have been enough to allow me to play Cyberpunk 2077 in any RT setting at 4k, even with DSR though.

Still, nice to know they are improving.

I wonder what they did.

C'mon, TFR, do much better fact-checking!
So does Nvidia direct deposit their gorilla marketers or do you get a check in the mail. It's just funny to see how fast you jump on AMD related news stories. I'm gonna need a forum stopwatch. Still good catch here though.

I think HUB checked a few games and didn't see an improvement.
