The Ryzen 5 7600X3D, a fourth desktop processor based on the Zen 4 architecture that leverages 3D V-Cache Technology for improved performance in gaming and other applications, is no longer exclusive to U.S. retailer Micro Center, according to new reports that indicate the CPU will also be available at Mindfactory.

So, is there a shortage of 7800x3d's or something?

My intent was to check out meaningful these lower end x3d chips are compared to the 7800x3d by comparing their price and performance, and I can't find many 7800x3d's for sale right now. Some are even above MSRP.

I had also heard reports of some fake 7800x3d's in the channel.

Read a couple of independent testing reports for this one and it barely loses out to its nearest Intel counterparts and 7800X3D, but does come out ahead of the current 9000 series. However, not exactly cheap at ~$50-60 less than a 7800X3D, but some seller(s) in Europe are including swag with it.

This seems like it's a "little to late" thing to me. Maybe if it was significantly cheaper than I would think otherwise.
