AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D CPU Review: Fastest 8-Core

Unexpected 9850X3D superpower: https://www.club386.com/amd-ryzen-7-9850x3d-review/

Not wanting to walk away entirely disappointed, I tried out the Ryzen 7 9850X3D’s ‘Eco Mode’ at 65W. To my surprise, the processor doesn’t lose a massive amount of its performance in this mode. Single-core performance remains resolute at 142pts, while multi-core only drops by 7% despite the 46% reduction in available power.

Might just be the trick that saves this CPU on ASUS and ASROCK mobos.

Hey the 295k is only 85% slower... I know thats not how math works. Figured it gt a rise out of Tyler. ;) all in good fun. I am not an fan of tbis game so meh to me.

1080p medium, because everyone with a 9800 or 9850 and 5090 makes sure to play at that resolution,

Valid point though these results translate a bit to 1440p resolution too which is what the majority of gamers have.

Also, most 4K TV scalers are optimized to scale 1080p to 4K. That could also be a reason for focusing on 1080p benchmarks.

I chase fidelity and experience over raw twitch. But I am an over 50 gamer. A dwindling breed. I want 4k good stable frames with everything maxed out when I game. And I want a good game... to me.

I appreciate reviews showing lower resolution gaming for the younger generation.

For us oldies i want to see how the same games at max fidelity on 4k game. Yea I am part of a surging market right now that will ebb and flow...

Its just getting to the point that I will need a capture card and a console to game on my pc...

It's interesting to see Intel reduced to the "moar core" value segment.
Using the TPU summaries the 285K is further behind in games than the FX-8150 was to the 2600K.

But, unlike Bulldozer, we have confidence Intel is taking countermeasures next generation by adding a lot of last level cache. That should help.

No, it's not. And you know this. It's how proper CPU testing works. It is why some sites still test at 720.

How PCMR nobility games is also irrelevant. Nvidia's 50 and 60 series going back to the last decade, account for the vast majority of cards in use.

no rush to upgrade my 9800x3d
Nor should you be. There isn't enough of an upgrade there to justify the cost. Plus, your going to be more GPU limited unless your running your games in potato mode.
