AMD has lived up to one of its recent promises with the release of AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 23.2.1, a new driver that includes improvements for not only its newer Radeon RX 7900 Series graphics cards, but also its older Radeon RX 6000 Series lineup of products. According to the release notes and a blog post that AMD wrote to celebrate the release, users can expect a variety of performance gains, including up to a 19% increase in select titles (e.g., F1 2021) versus the previous driver. The new drivers also enable support for AV1 encode acceleration on the Radeon RX 7000 Series and streaming optimizations for H.264 and H.265 for the Radeon RX 6000 Series, including updates to AMD Link, AMD's app that allows users to stream their Windows desktop and games to mobile devices, TVs, and other Windows PCs.
