Data hoarders who have a ton of money to blow on SSDs may be pleased to know that their options are growing. Apex Storage, a PCIe add-in-card (AIC) design firm based in Utah that prides itself on creating what it says are the industry's highest storage capacities and densities with industry-leading performance, has launched the X21, an AIC that can support 21 M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs for up to 168 TB or more of super-fast storage. Featuring 31 GBps read/write speeds and 100 PCIe 4.0 lanes, these cards are aimed at machine learning applications but should be compatible with any Intel or AMD system with an open PCIe 3.0/4.0 x16 slot, as noted in a product listing.
