Apple is making another effort at breaking into the audiophile market. The company announced an all-new pair of wireless over-ear headphones called the AirPods Max today, which come with a relatively eye-watering price tag of $549. The expensive headset promises high-fidelity audio in a “stunning” design, as well as advanced features such as adaptive EQ, active noise cancellation, and spatial audio.

Really not that expensive for higher end head phones.

A bit like the Apple monitor that everyone got bent outta shape about.
Compare to what's out there in the same performace class and the price aint all that bad at all.

What would you compare these too?
I doubt they compete with a pair of studio headphones being wireless and all.

The Drop THX Panda are one, but really, 'audiophile' and 'wireless' are somewhat like oil and water. Especially if there's Bluetooth involved.

Various companies are experimenting with wireless technologies other than Bluetooth, and the gaming companies are probably doing the best at that; but their headphones top out at 'barely audiophile' levels!

[also, if you're going for 'decent audiophile', you're looking at headphones in the US$500 to US$1,000 range; that's where cans that are at least good at everything reside]
