Apple to Announce New iPadOS Update That Makes iPads Function More like Laptops

Apple will be holding its next annual Worldwide Developers Conference next week, and one of the major announcements the company will reportedly be making is a new version of iPadOS that aims to transform the way its tablets are used.

Well, this is better than making the laptops function more like tablets

The hardware isn't very different any longer, they really just need to expand window support a bit more (ipadOS only allows a few static window configurations now, and they are fairly silly) and allow you to use a mouse/trackpad. The lack of proper mouse/trackpad support is really head scratching - I know they really want you to use the touchscreen and most things have an interface assuming touch .. but not like mice and touchscreens haven't been co-existing for a really long time already.
