ASRock has unveiled new additions to its Phantom Gaming line with ASRock PG558KF and PG32UMF premium gaming displays. While gamers could be waiting a very long time until they truly have the hardware to drive the flagship 55-inch 8K display, the PG558KF could fit nicely on a large desktop. Not much more was revealed for the ASRock PG558KF other than that it supports HDR1000 and has both HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 connectors, along with some other shared features for the PG32UMF.

Meanwhile, the 32-inch PG32UMF might just be the perfect size for those not wanting something so large and as it boasts HDR1400, it is sure to be bright enough for even the darkest images. Additionally, the 144 Hz 4K panel (no word on any VRR support), features an impressive 1,152 dimming zones, and 97% DCI-P3 wide color gamut coverage.

I agree. I have a 48" LG CX that I was using as a gaming monitor but had to turn my head side to side to see the whole thing and I have a deep desk (42"). I sit approximately 34" from the monitor/TV. I moved that to the bedroom and got a 42" LG C2 that fits better. I couldn't imagine using my 55" LG CX in my living room on my desk.

This could possibly be used in commercial applications where you need to attract people's attention from a distance but then also need fine detail up close once you have their attention, for example on a sales floor to showcase or highlight selected products or in a casino. But otherwise, I don't see it as very viable for personal desktop use. It could be used in a living room PC setup coupled with an overstuffed recliner and wireless keyboard/mouse where you'd be some distance away, but then the 8k feature would be rendered somewhat moot.
 
I'm pretty sure the 8k 55inch was to show they can and nothing else. I'm thinking 40ish inches is the sweet spot.
 
Yeah, for me 55" is way too big. It wasn't until I moved my 49" CRG9 to a 70-80" desk that I could finally enjoy it and even then it seems just a tad too big.

I'm far more interested in that 32" HDR1400 model. I would really love to see the ratings review of it. Granted, I'd still prefer something closer to 36-38 but still sounds impressive as is.
