ASUS has released a new BIOS update for its ROG Strix X570-E Gaming motherboard. While the company didn’t provide any specifics on Version 1409, @KOMACHI_ENSAKA discovered that it includes support for both Summit Ridge and Raven 2 processors. This means that the board is now officially compatible with all three generations of Ryzen CPUs.

I have this board in my system. AMD engineers did a wonderful job keeping the promise of backward and future compatibility for their chipsets with the BIOS as the only limitation.
 
I dont think 'Crazy' is the right word.

If one doesnt have the cash to buy a whole set of parts at once getting the MOBO first is a viable option.
