ASUS has relaunched an older graphics card for enthusiasts who are willing to buy something—anything—to quench their GPU thirst amid an ongoing graphics card shortage that doesn’t appear to be ending anytime soon.

As spotted by leaker momomo_us, ASUS’ arguably ancient GeForce GT 730 has resurfaced on the manufacturer’s official website. This is a graphics card that features the GK208, a GPU leveraging NVIDIA’s nearly decade-old Kepler architecture.

The GeForce GT 730’s core specifications include 384 CUDA Cores, 2 GB of 5 Gbps GDDR5 memory on a 64-bit memory interface, and a boost clock of up to 927 MHz. Four HDMI 1.4b ports with HDCP 2.2 are available, supporting resolutions of up to 3840 x 2160.

Is that an X1 connector?

Maybe it can be used for display walls, slip 4 of these into a single system and you can control 16 screens.

Why did they use that GPU instead of something with support like a GT1010 or GT1030?
I have two hunches - but they are just that, I have no insider information.

The first is, they just had a lot of them in a warehouse somewhere.

The second is this was one inexpensive die to make that had some fab capacity that was available, so it was quick and easy to spin up.

In either case they figured - people will buy anything they can get their hands on, the market is just that hot, so just get them out there.
