Does ASUS have what it takes to compete with the Steam Deck? The answer to that appears to be coming in the form of the ROG Ally, a new handheld gaming PC that ASUS revealed on April Fool's Day but is, apparently, a real product that will be available for purchase in the near future. According to an early overview from Dave2D, the ROG Ally runs on Windows 11 and features a custom AMD SoC built on TSMC's 4nm process node that features a Zen 4 CPU and RDNA 3 GPU, a 7-inch 1080p 16:9 screen with 120 Hz refresh rate, and a custom ASUS app that includes a game launcher. The device also appears to be compatible with ASUS' ROG XG Mobile eGPU, which was recently updated with the GeForce RTX 4090 laptop GPU and costs $1,999.99.
