Atari VCS 800 Now Available for Pre-Order .... Again?

Do you still have that itch to plunker down some dough on an Atari console? Atari is re-re-leasing their fabled system for the second time in a couple years. Supposedly it will be in peoples hands by early 2020.

Welcome the New New Atari VCS 800 to your console collection! It runs Linux! It has a Ryzen CPU, Wifi, USB 3.0. You can run your pc games via Atari's "Sandbox" mode. Run your old Atari 2600 (7800?) games via emulation. Re-mastered Classics, Media, apps... it does it all! Does it cook you dinner though? I have no idea so stay tuned and find out!

2020 seems kinda like a bad year to release a new console - aren't both the new Xbox and PS due that year?

Still, really do like the look of this console and hope it becomes something worthwhile.

It's not a bad mini-pc for the price, given that it actually is released in March. With listings on Gamestop and Wal-Mart, this indicates a much more final production schedule. Wal-Mart doesn't play around with vendors, and if there are more delays, that contract and thus the VCS is done.
