It's believed that as we approach the 15th anniversary of the original 2011 release for last The Elder Scrolls game, Skyrim, Xbox could officially reveal the full title for The Elder Scrolls VI. It’s been widely believed that Grand Theft Auto VI —oops, how did that happen, er, hem, The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel would be the next entry’s title, […]

The marketing department (aka the hype machine) is absolutely wrong with regard to "...as we approach the 15th anniversary of the first The Elder Scrolls game,"

The first Elder Scrolls game was The Elder Scrolls: Arena and it was released on March 25, 1994 ... so roughly 32 years ago. Given this blatant inaccuracy, how much of the rest of the post is trustworthy?

No marketing hype at all. Simple mistake and now corrected.

Assuming this doesn't release before 2028, that would mean the entire run of Elder Scrolls from I - V has been released in the time span it takes bethesda to produce TES VI. Amazing.

Just gos to show that corporate red tape slows down everything.

Every aspect of every character has to be reviewed to make sure it isn't offensive to most people...

When it was leaked that the Chinese owner of EA was all.. i dont csre about the game being ultra inclusive... part of me cheered. Sexy characters were a part of ME. But it seems that may never be again.

Bethesda

I can't get past two facts:

Bethesda has (probably) made most of their Elder Scrolls money from their MMO and from re-releasing Oblivion and Skyrim ad nauseum, why break a good trend?

Bethesda is still owned by Microsoft, and most of the id team is already gone, so ... who's next on the chopping block?

The problem is that they are trying to avoid offending. What they should be doing is trying to please the audience with cash burning their pockets, and don't give a **** if anyone else is offended.
