BioShock 4 developer Cloud Chamber Games is rumored to have lost roughly 40 employees, triggering speculation about the potential release date of the game. The rumor comes from Oops Leaks, who previously leaked a working title and other details about the game. This time around, they say there are development issues for the highly anticipated game amid staffing changes and other concerns.



Apparently, various staff has either left the company by their own choice or been fired. Project leads are also said to be among the employees who have left. 40 employees is not a "small restructuring" unless they have 1000 people working on it. I doubt the whole studio is more than 200 people, so 40 is likely at least 25% of their workforce. That is disruptive to say the least.
 
Yea this reads like the purging of a department. Sounds like a bad leader taught a team bad habits and took them all down with his or her sinking ship.
 
Or the dev team wanted to take the project in one direction and upper management didn't agree. So they started firing PM's and dev team leads, and a lot of others FTS'd and quit so their name isn't associated with the dumpster fire that upper management wants.

With "get woke, go broke" being a thing, I can see that happening.
 
Seeing some left of their own volition, among which were some leads, and some were fired, sounds like someone is trying to avoid a sexual harrassement suit.
