Following the horrific reception of Warcraft III: Reforged, Blizzard has posted an apology to players on its official forum regarding the current state of the game and what they’re going to do to fix it. The developer knows that the patience of its customers are wearing thin, however, so it has set up a support page that allows Reforged owners to get an instant refund on the game.

Optimistic fans who are convinced that the remake will be saved can stay tuned for an update to the remake’s visuals, which have been criticized for looking different than the original. Blizzard is...

I'll say this for blizzard. They didn't bilk people to back it THEN flop.

So, help me to understand where Blizzard went so wrong with this one. I never played Warcraft III. I'm not much for RTS's, or anything in the fantasy genre.

I wonder if Blizzard will work with AMD to get a substitute game out for the new bundle that went live this month?

It's impossible to please a Blizzard gamer. They could put out a flawless game and regardless of the genre there will always be a group that thinks it's the worst game ever.

The biggest peeve, to the best of my understanding, is they not only killed off some game modes, but they retroactively killed off those modes even to people who just owned the original and didn’t purchase the remaster.

Blizzard did this to themselves and they have changed the temperature of the gaming community vs them.

First Nail was some truly **** expansions to WOW.

Second Nail was by releasing a new Diablo that was freaking phone only.

Third nail was they tried to destroy a pro gamer's career because he spoke out politically about a sensitive issue effecting a communist nation that happens to also be a economic powerhouse.

Fourth nail was the takeover of corporate greed over delivering the best gaming experience.

Fifth nail was releasing a paired down instead of updated version of Warcraft 3. For whatever reason it was that they did it. (I suspect some of the old school that left had exclusive licenses to specific features and told Activision to eff off whenever they came knocking.

So unlike Jesus they are not on a cross hung there as cheaply as possible and being unfairly persecuted for their actions. They climbed up on the cross and drove the nails in with the help of Activision.

This studio is on a slow death roll in the jaws of it's corporate overlords who are just trying to tear off as much tender meat as they can before they let the carcass sink to the bottom of the river.

So yea gamers can be a bitchy bunch. And there was always a bit of bitching and moaning. But the truth is that Blizzard screwed themselves over here and have kept doing so in the search for the next dolla dolla yall.

I don't doubt or deny that Blizz has messed up (what company with any longevity hasn't?), but Blizz gamers, in my experience, are some of the biggest bitches out there. Just take WoW as an example. People have been bitching since vanilla. The issue is that no studio is going to please everyone. It's not possible and the Blizz players are some of the most vocal when they don't like something. Look, Blizz has pissed me off too with some of their decisions, but I've never flamed out on the community or company for it like so many others. So yeah, they aren't exonerated for their mistakes, but that doesn't make the community one of impeccable behavior either.

That's akin to saying "Yea that guy murdered a lot of people, but you don't need to be an ******* about it." people complained about changes in the game but their love of the game for a long time with wow didn't just poof. That's happened with crap as of late.

I think you need help with analogies. Talk about being over-dramatic.

Ok lets see...

How about....

I don't have another one... hummm... Ok I know.

"Sure Fox Cancelled firefly, but there is no reason to be angry about it."

How's that... it's entertainment based. I'm sorry about you feeling the fan base of Blizzard should be less vocal about being dissatisfied with the spiritual death of a company.

Apparently blizzard has been banning people from the forums that provide links to request a refund. And results are mixed on the requests as well.

Reddit post that people keep referring to as the source for Blizzard banning people from forums. First link in post is a screen shot from a blizz forum post that makes a claim without providing any evidence. Second link in post is a blog that has a link to a deleted reddit post. Third link in post is to the deleted reddit post from the blog of the second link.
Blizzard forum post with video citing above link. Notice the first comment after the posted video.

This took 2 mins to find and looks pretty weak to me. Does that mean Blizz isn't banning people? No. Does it mean the game doesn't match the expectations players had given what Blizz appeared to layout for Reforged? No. Blizz ****s up...a lot. They've ****ed up repeatedly for years, which means Blizz attracts a masochistic group of players that clearly have trouble moving on and have trouble learning from past mistakes. Or people have moved on and the new people didn't bother to take the time to see who they were getting involved with. It would be like someone who's just started using Windows complaining about it like they weren't a known entity. I will say this for the current crop of complaints about Blizz, they have gotten more extreme since the days of vanilla. According to one post I saw on Blizz's forums, the management is using all the money they rake in from unsuspecting children on blow and hookers and to run their sex trafficking ring. #Blizzgate That stayed up but they ban people from getting their money back. 👌
