Can the forums be "widened"?

Hey,

Quick question.

I have seen other Xenforo implementations where the forum will scale to the full width of the browser window. On TheFPSReview Forums it scales up to a certain width and then stops.

Here is an extreme example if I go full screen at 4k (which I never do, just for illustration)

I often browse with a window snapped to the side, and scaled down to 80% or 90% as I find most fonts online these days in the mobile era to be comically large.

When I do it makes very poor use of my screen real estate and looks like this:

If this is just a simple settings change, I feel it could benefit those of us with larger screens, without harming anyone else, as it appears to just scale down on smaller screens anyway.

Thoughts?

On AT they use it for all of the sidebar crap an ads.

Hold shift + ctrl and scroll up (or down) with your mouse wheel. You can set thefps back to 100% (or whatever you want) and it wont effect other sites you visit.

The whole point is that I want to run it smaller :p

Really hitting a vibe code wall here. So close, yet so far....

That's a shame, but I really appreciate you trying.

I see so many of these Xenforo forum implementations that operate that way, I just assumed it was a simple option.

My apologies for requesting something a little bigger than expected 😅

It's more the approach I took of trying to figure out a custom plugin to enable the functionality without knowing what I was doing. I'll see about copying the theme and making it selectable that way...

If you are still trying to figure a way out, let me know and I can ask a webdev friend. He's not a regular/paid developer but he comes up with crazy solutions. Like I needed some data scraped from a web page on a regular basis and he just created a JS bookmarklet that works in Firefox and it just works so elegantly that I am forever indebted to him. Saved me tons of hours and it still comes in handy few times a month. If I had done it my way (parsing the HTML file with C/C++ or using something like GreaseMonkey), I would have wasted a good bit of my sanity on the endeavor.

Thanks for the nudge - I got distracted by a squirrel and didn't go back to figure it out.

Wide mode is now available as a theme selection (bottom left hand corner, select "The FPS Review - Wide Mode" as your theme and it should do as requested.

Thais is awesome! Thank you!

Light theme - Wide please, if you don't mind terribly :)

Wow! I didn't know anyone actually still used light modes on computers! 😅
