Ray tracing options can no longer be found under the graphics settings of Capcom's Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 remakes for PC, various Steam users have reported. The feature was originally introduced to RE2 and RE3 in June 2022 as part of a next-gen update that upgraded the games from DirectX 11 to DirectX 12, and while that decision wasn't received well by players initially, who complained that they performed worse, leading Capcom to bring back the DirectX 11 version, the non-ray tracing versions are apparently now the only choice. The good news is that players have figured out a way to bring back ray tracing by amending the games' shortcut paths, which can be done through the steps outlined below. Capcom announced last week that it would no longer be providing technical support for the DirectX 11 versions of RE3, RE2, and RE7.
