CES 2021 Canceled, Will Be All-Digital Event

Coronavirus has claimed another victim, and this time, it’s the world’s largest tech conference. The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) announced today that CES 2021 will no longer be held as a traditional event in January, but as an “immersive,” all-digital experience that will connect exhibitors, customers, thought leaders, and media from around the world.



“Amid the pandemic and growing global health concerns about the spread of COVID-19, it’s just not possible to safely convene tens of thousands of people in Las Vegas in early January 2021 to meet and do business in person,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CTA. “Technology helps us all work, learn and connect during the pandemic – and that innovation will also help us reimagine CES 2021...

I had a good time at the 2020 edition and was hoping to be able to go again. Mostly hoping that this whole pandemic thing would be over-enough for the 2021 edition to happen in person, but such is life. We'll still cover it to the best of our abilities at least...
