Corsair Teases Custom 12-Pin PCIe Power Connector Cable for GeForce RTX 30 Series

Corsair has shared an image of its upcoming 12-pin PCIe power connector cable, which is designed for the Founders Editions of NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics cards. Green team has made it clear that these first-party models will ship with an adapter that converts traditional cabling, but according to Corsair, this is a “clunky” and “ugly” solution. That’s why it’s prepping its own design – a single cable that provides a direct connection.

Yes yes of course. Get the fancy psu with the new fancy connector, no reason for it, its just fancy. Are they going to make it Nvidia green?
Don't get me wrong its genius and people will eat it up, but this is straight out of Apples book, well they are a 2 trillion dollar company and I am not so there!.
Its just silly stuff, mess with standards in the name of marketing.

The only cards using the 12-pin are the FE cards due to the compact PCB design and flow-through cooler design. All the AIB manufacturer cards I've seen so far are not using the 12-pin connector. The money grab is more on Corsair considering you'll have no issue just using two standard connectors with the included adapter. But I suppose it is a nice option to have for those who want it.

I can see your point that all it improves is aesthetics but your point falls flat when you consider how many products are already on the market that have no additional performance gains and purely aesthetic. For instance, RGB, custom cables, built-in LCD screens, etc and lets be honest if you spent any money on making your PC look good whether it be custom watercooling, RGB, a fancy case, etc then the few bucks to replace one cable isn't really a problem.

I understand completely, however my response was to our resident NVIDIA pessimist claiming that this is purely a cash grab from NVIDIA.
