After watching the gameplay trailer, the game doesn't look like my cup of tea, but your strategy is overall sound.

Looks just like Black Desert Online, with an updated graphics engine.

BDO was pretty in it's day, especially after they released a major graphics update a couple years in. But the game was hard to get into. Typical asian MMO type stuff: big cash shop, lots of various currencies to keep it spicy, flashy combo moves, scantily clad ladies jumping hither and fro, long grindy bits, etc.
