Crytek has announced that Crysis Remastered will be coming to the PC, PS4, and Xbox One on September 18, 2020. The developer has also shared a short but sweet trailer that shows off the title’s 8K textures, new lighting, updated assets, and ray-traced reflections. Everything appears to look quite a bit better than the 2007 original.

“With its 2007 release, Crysis set the industry standard for first person shooters with stunning visuals, highly evolved gameplay, and an enormous sandbox world,” Crytek wrote. “Crysis Remastered adds new graphic features, high-quality textures, and the CRYENGINE’s native hardware- and API-agnostic ray tracing solution to update the game for a new generation of hardware.”

Now I'm excited. The EGS exclusivity doesn't bother me and this is looking much closer to what I was hoping for.

Thanks for saving me some money, I guess.

The thing that pisses me off about the EGS exclusive bit is that the original 4 Crysis games were on EA origin. If I recall correctly, while crysis 1 was standalone (later on steam) by the time Crysis 2 and 3 came out, Origin was required.

So every time a developer switches publishers I have to jump to a new launcher because of all these backdoor shady exclusivity deals? Annoying as ****.

Cool I might just give this a crack. Enjoyed playing around in the original Crysis a lot too.

Crysis has been handed down to more resellers than a pair of shorts in one of the cable shows about a family with 20 kids. I got one on Amazon way back when with a gift card. Got one or two on Steam. Then got 'em all on EA Origin Basic Access. I know what you mean but when it comes to this game that kind of mess it is to be expected at this point. I've even got a physical copy of Crysis 2 somewhere.
