Since the launch of the RTX 30 Series, one of the things that have stood out is their increased power requirements. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 already has a 320-watt TDP along with a recommended 750-watt power supply. Reviews are also showing that when overclocked, it can easily consume up to 550 watts. So what does that say about the upcoming GeForce RTX 3090? From extra CUDA, RT, and Tensor Cores, along with increased memory, that’s a perfect recipe for increased consumption. They have a 350-watt TDP, but even if you factor in recent rumors of it only having 10-23 percent performance gains, it becomes clear the TDP could be rated higher for custom models. Well, at least one has already been spotted.
