Disney+ Now Streaming Select MCU Titles in IMAX Enhanced

Those who may have logged in to view the Disney+ streaming debut of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings were in for a treat, as the service has rolled out a new option. Select Marvel Cinematic Universe titles now include an option to view IMAX Enhanced versions. Previously these versions were only available in the theater or on select 3D Blu-rays. These versions include specially shot footage in the expanded aspect ratio of 1.90:1.



IMAX Enhanced introduces streaming and technology advancements that bring the power of IMAX to Disney+. For the first time in the home, Disney+ subscribers can stream select Marvel Cinematic Universe movies in IMAX’s expanded aspect ratio — accessible on all Disney+ supported devices. Please note that other IMAX Enhanced features and functionality are not currently available on Disney+.

TVs are 1.77:1 (16:9), most movies are between 2.35:1 and 2.39:1 in the theater. Are we supposed to be excited about an intermediate aspect ratio? Is the image expanded vertically from cinematic?
 
Noticed this last night, but it failed to intrigue me to watch any of them.
 
Hmm. We watched this last night, I didn't pay any attention to if it were IMAX enhanced or what not.
 
Does IMAX enhanced ONLY impact the video or do you get more audio channels as well?
