Vitalik Buterin, creator of Ethereum, says that World of Warcraft is one of the reasons why he got into crypto. Blizzard Entertainment rolled out an update that reduced the damage of one of his characters. He was so distraught that it led him to researching decentralized currency. That took him to a job at BitCoin Weekly for a humble $1.50 an hour. Not long after, he and a friend created their own magazine called BitCoin Magazine. By 2013, he dropped out of college and traveled the world to learn more about cryptocurrencies and blockchains, which ultimately led to the creation of Ethereum.

I've never heard of World of Warcraft players and rational thinking being used in the same sentence. They obviously have questionable taste in games to start with. :)
