Facebook revealed today that after 2021, they will no longer produce PC-only VR headsets. The Oculus Quest, a standalone headset that can connect to PC via Oculus Link, seems to be superseding it as the primary product. May be for the best now that Oculus headsets are going to require a Facebook account to work.

The Oculus Quest 2 is now available for preorder and starts at $299 USD. The new headset features 1832 x 1920 resolution per eye and comes with 64GB of storage for that price. The displays only feature a 72 Hz refresh rate, however, a further downgrade from the 80 Hz display in the Rift S. Facebook is promising a 90 Hz "upgrade" in the future.
