A remaster of FINAL FANTASY TACTICS, the tactical RPG from Square that released in 1997 for the original PlayStation console but remains fondly remembered for introducing the world of Ivalice and mixing Final Fantasy with the real-time strategy gameplay of the Ogre Battle series, is currently in development, according to a new statement shared by a reputable games journalist this week, one that claims the project is "real and happening."

I used to love these turn based tactics games a lot. Now I find them very slow and tedious.

I guess I’m just getting too old for them
 
I'm keeping an eye on the Metal slug game that's in devellopement in the tactic genre, seems a bit more action oriented then these.

Yar, I just watched some gameplay footage of that - looked really good.

I'm a huge fan of FFT and have replayed it sporadically throughout the years. I'm hoping this remaster bumps up the terrain size and unit numbers; 5 feels pretty small and limited compared to some of the other games in this genre. I've been on a big PC handheld kick lately, and this remaster would be perfect for my Ally.
