The final TDP specs for NVIDIA's unreleased flagship RTX 50 series graphics cards could end up being a tad lower than previously expected. NVIDIA is expected to officially announce its "Blackwell" based GeForce RTX 50 series next week at CES 2025 and one of the many details many are wondering about is how much power they will need.

Aw crikey! Fixed. Unable to go into details regarding this morning's challenges, but, well, welcome to 2025!

This happened with the 4090 also, rumored TDP was off the charts, then it actually launched at a lower TDP. The thing to understand about rumors, prior to an official launch, things are still in flux, rumors can give false expectations, that's just one out of many reasons I don't like rumors and leaks.

Could be someone going off a Galax Hall of Fame rumor for the high-end TDP, while the FE models will be reasonable

Yep, and I wouldn't be surprised if the 5090 TDP gets dialed back even further because no matter what, being this close to the 600W 12V-2x6 rating means it's going to hit a wall real quick unless it's getting two connectors and that's something I've got doubts about. That or its going to have things locked down which would be weird for a card like this.
