How to participate: Install the Folding@Home client and configure it to team 198 (Team AnandTech). Also, having a passkey is preferable, as this gets you much more points for the same amount of work compared to anonymous folding without passkey.

Earlier today I fetched the 01/01 12am CST starting points from apps.foldingathome.org's files. I'll track progress based on these data exports. Ideally this will give the same figures as folding.extremeoverclocking.com.

The final week of the record run overlaps with the bigadv eol challenge:

Your F@H credit will count in both events automatically if you fold for team 198.

703 M were done on January 1, that's already 40% of the result of the whole week 52, 2025 (during which many of us had their GPUs on PrimeGrid Genefer).

Going forward, I am thinking I will post progress reports every half week or so.

Glad to see myself in the team's top ten of the day (my F@H alias is xii5ku) after a long absence of mine from Folding@Home. Also good to see that my stats are in line with EOC's; I spot-checked a few individual credits.

Where should our primary focus be for following this challenge? We have the old forum which I seem to check automatically, or this new forum? Need to build new habits. ;)
 
I almost never go to the other forum anymore. I always just come here because I know it works and if it's not working I know I can reach @David_Schroth and ask why he broke it.
 
I was actually worrying a bit whether the AT forum is still there until I got around to copy Endgame124's historic data. :-/ I made threads both there and here to fish for participants at both places.

When Future finally pulls the plug, it will likely happen without prior warning, just like with the web site proper. Given that, it makes sense IMO to converse here, and not there.
 
This may be the wrong place to ask but I will anyway. I noticed most of us have a badge "AT Refugee". Except me. Do I add it myself or does it come automatically?

If we keep up the pace which we achieved on Friday and Saturday, we shall beat our previous record month of 01/2024 (26,898,347,599). But this also depends a bit on the workunit batches which foldingathome.org is issuing, considering that points-per-day on a given hardware aren't quite uniform between workunits.

Our prior record of number of active members will be a tough one to beat though (83 in our 01/2024 record run, let alone 1481 during the pandemic). So if anybody out there is undecided to join in on this one: Even if you contribute just a few or even just one workunit this month, that would push the metric of active members. IOW the more the merrier. :-) And who knows, maybe your simulation result happens to be of the kind that brings a tear of joy to a scientist's eye.
