That was a good-@ss game. Wish I had been able to play it on PS5 (for 60fps), or better yet, PC. Still had a blast with it on PS4 Pro, where at least I played it for free cuz I borrowed it from a friend. No surprise the game sold a f*ckton. Woulda sold even more if it had been available on PC.

Ghost of Sushi Roll is a game I was very interested in but couldn't justify the investment in a PS4 or PS5 to play it. Essentially, I'm not buying a game console for a single game I might like. If it ever comes to Steam I'll grab it for sure.

Awesome game. Probably my favorite PS4 game. I did read it will be coming to PC at some point.

Even though the mechanics are similar to Far Cry or *** Creed games, the story and just amazing graphics make it 100x better than those games.

I've watched some gameplay videos and I've seen some reviews of it. I definitely like the setting and its visual style. I'm not sure on the story as I've tried to avoid any spoilers for it. Everyone I know that played it has nothing but good things to say about the game.

I have a PS4 Pro and still didn't buy it. It just seems like Assassin's Creed : Ronin to me. And I'm really not a fan of the feudal japan setting to begin with, so it already starts with a big handicap. Combined with the console handicap that's just too much, so I'd probably end up hating it. But on PC for $20 I might give it a go.

I was pretty interested in this game, love the setting, graphics, but when I read about the gameplay it was game over for me, shame realy as there are not that many games in this setting but alas.

I need at least 5 must-have exclusives for a console before I even start to consider a purchase of that console.

I don't dismiss a game until I get hands-on with it. Although I realize that's very hard to do if you're not into the arr-matey scene, or you don't have friends you can borrow games (or systems) from. Still, I can't just read about how a game might play and dismiss it just based off of that. Honestly GoT doesn't really play like any other game I've played before.

I've played a few of the AC games, and GoT doesn't even remotely feel like an AC game to me. There are some similarities with other open-world games, elements borrowed and whatnot, but in general GoT has a pretty unique feel to me, offers its own unique atmosphere and play experience. Even the combat doesn't feel like anything else.

I did read it will be coming to PC at some point.
Just rumors so far. But since other PS4 exclusives have been making their way to PC, it would stand to reason that this one will as well.

I've watched some gameplay videos and I've seen some reviews of it.
Man, it was really hard for me to get a proper idea of this game just from videos and reviews. It looked just kind of like whatever. Honestly didn't seem all that interesting or special to me. I had to actually play it for myself before I was able to get a feel for how the game is set up, and how it plays.

I was already a fan of Sucker Punch because of the Sly Cooper series on PS2, and I also enjoyed the Infamous series (well 2, Second Son was meh and 1 wasn't all that great). GoT is quite a departure from all those games, but I felt they did a good job.

Even though the mechanics are similar to Far Cry or *** Creed games, the story and just amazing graphics make it 100x better than those games.
GoT didn't feel at all like those game series to me, but I agree about the graphics, and the story for the most part.

Everyone I know that played it has nothing but good things to say about the game.
Yeah that's how it was for me before I played it. I couldn't find a single person that didn't have good things to say about the game. Now I have joined those people.

I don't have any magic number - if I want to play a title I'll get the machine. But yeah, it has to be a good title for me to do that for. I bought a PS1 for FFVII back in the day, and went on to find plenty of other fun titles after the fact. Same thing with a 3DS and Bravely Default. My N64 - not so much, I had Zelda and Donkey Kong, and never really played either, but I never really regretted the purchase.

This is the problem with consoles compared to PC - I agree with you. Console games tend to have a higher price, go on sale less often, and aren't discounted nearly as deeply. Makes it much harder to branch out and I'm less willing to drop money on titles I'm not fairly certain I'm going to like.

Now, things like XBGP and PS+ help, the vast majority of my PlayStation Library is from PS+. I've probably only played 1/10th of what I get there though. XBGP is an even better deal, but I can do that on PC so I am not really looking to invest in the hardware. But I don't think those two services alone make up the vast gulf that exists between PC and Console markets.

Depends, but there are a number of games I know I will not like, like dark souls, I don't want games that are hard for the sake of beeing hard, if people are into that great for them, but it's not for me.

There have been a number of games where I was on the fence, bought them anyways and almost always regretted it. You get to a point where you just know what you like and don't and got to go with that.

Does Azz Creed games let you pet foxes? No, they do not. Do they allow you to sneak up on your enemies from the tall grass and slice their heads right off? Write haikus? And riding your horse around Japan taking in all the sights? Yeah it's a little fetch-questy and craft happy but all open world games are. And the story and the dialog on this are just amazing.

And if you want to play it in black and white and pretend it's a samurai movie, you can do that too. Although the world is just too beautiful and colorful for me to waste on that.

If you have the means to play it, everyone should at least try it. You can probably score it for $20 nowadays. It played fine on my base ps4, but there were some massive battles that slowed down a little bit.

I cannot put into words how beautiful this game is, and the fact that a regular launch ps4 is doing it is unreal.

You can tame almost any animal. And you can then pet them. But I don't consider this a selling point of the games.
Do they allow you to sneak up on your enemies from the tall grass and slice their heads right off?
Yes, the best part in odyssey and valhalla is sneaking around locations executing guards.

Write haikus?
IDK what that is. Seems like some activity or ritual you can do in certain locations. There are similar things in AC, so technically yes.
And riding your horse around Japan taking in all the sights?
Obviously not in Japan but the appropriate region that is in the games.

Yeah it's a little fetch-questy and craft happy but all open world games are.
So it's not like AC, but it is like all open word games?

I wouldn't know until I played it.

I loved the latest AC games, but I would not have wanted to play those on a PS4 either. So Tsukutsima is off the table until it's on PC. And if it's never released then it's Sony's fault. I thought HZD or Uncharted would never be on PC either, I'm not making that mistake again.

Hi all,

Since this is just a single-sentence rumor I'm not posting a story on this yet but still putting this link here for those interested.

Supposedly this game will make it to PC in 2023. Sounds plausible to me, especially if they're working on a movie and all. I think everyone knows this could be a huge hit on PC if they keep to the quality standards we've seen with numerous other Sony releases. Fingers crossed!

Well if we count 3 as numerous, 33% of which was a buggy mess at release. Uncharted and Last of Us are yet to release.

a buggy mess at release.
Most games have subsequent patches after release and some take years before that stops. SM launched in a fully playable state and after the first one or two, the majority of patches afterward were more about optimizations, with some fixes. HZD, well, that definitely could've been better but I didn't play it until it went on sale at GOG. GOW was also playable. I never played Days Gone, Predator Hunting Grounds, or Helldivers so I can't speak about those. They've actually had 6, not 3, games released on PC.

I commend Sony because they do put effort into seeing that their games are trying to take advantage of PC features. So much so that SM is even more optimized for modern hardware than older. UW, FOV, RT/DLSS/FSR, and higher framerates, are among the PC-centric items seen in GOW (sans RT), HZD, and SM. Do they launch in a perfect state? No, but I haven't seen anything do that in the last 10+ years. Do they launch in a playable state? Most of the time, which is either on par or better than many others currently. I honestly can't think of a single AAA studio that launches a game in a perfect state or doesn't have to put out patches with days to address some kind of fix.

Supporting ultrawide, unlocked fps, and custom control mapping is the bare minimum on PC for a port. Anything less and I'm not even considering it a port, more like a wrapper emu.

There are a lot of PC only games that don’t check all of those boxes

Yeah, a whole lotta trash. Unless we are talking about old games that came out before ultrawide was a thing. However locked FPS and no control mapping are inexcusable sins. I don't even know which PC only games do that.
