GIGABYTE has revealed it will be showing off the world’s first PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD at Computex. According to a press release, the drive will be capable of 5000 MB/s read/write speeds. It’ll supposedly run at low temperatures.
No release date has been given yet, but the drive could be a good fit for enthusiasts who are upgrading to an AMD X570 system, which has full PCIe 4.0 support. Current NVMe M.2 drives on PCIe 3.0 taper out at around 3500 MB/s.
