BMW drivers have a reputation for being a-holes on the road, and it’s instances like these that make us suspect that stereotype might have some truth behind it. Simon Byrne, the same guy behind that massive mining rig comprising 78 NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 graphics cards, has returned with another brilliant way of pissing enthusiasts off: building a mining rig in his $147,500+ gas/electric BMW i8 sports car.

“The only practical use for the trunk of an i8 is to home a 6 x RTX 3080 mining rig,” Byrne declared. “No gamers were harmed in the making...

People do all kinds of **** in order to "make (insert who you are scared of/hate/don't understand here) cry".

Insecurity is not very attractive. Unfortunately plenty of it to go around.

who cares that he has the cards? The question should be "how did he get them?". If he spent his time scouring the internet, paying scalper prices, sitting in purchase queues or watching a twitch stream for weeks on end. Well, then he did what most everyone else wasn't/isn't willing to do.

Lets get real.. he paid a bot to buy in bulk. That's it.

I like that his CPU cooler both matches the paint job in the car - and - is pointed in the right direction to provide that much needed turbo boost for speed.

Mission Accomplished
Certainly got my blood boiling.

I have a friend who used to own a BMW i8. He got rid of it. Said it was one of the worst cars he has ever owned. He didn't give me many details, aside from the fact that it gave him no end of trouble, and he didn't even really have it for all that long. Also said the driving experience was no good.

I mean this stuff is just sillyness ( the guy with the car)... I think its less about guys like this or just miners in general...I sometimes think people are more upset because of what ends up being basically gaslighting by various companies at different steps of the supply chain. I think people sense the gaslighting even if they can't quite point it, by this I mean promises of supply and promises of fighting purchase bots and so on, only to read about mass miner operations... The brutal honesty is, cards will be sold to anyone with money and if they buy in bulk even better. Why would you not sell them the easy way? Any reasonable entity or person would.

Of course.

Also, a company could easily start selling to miners only for a few years and still be welcomed back with open arms to the gaming community if they decided to come back.
