Hands On with the bHaptics TACTOT Vest

Once I landed, I started moving around the battleground and started noticing every time another player as behind me that the vest would vibrate in the their location.

you don’t say... sounds like pornhub integration is working as intended in the their location... or maybe prison simulator - hard to tell.

In other reviews:

”Point on the doll where the vest touched you”

I enjoyed the briefing on this product.
Not something I would buy, but interesting.

On a technical note, it drives me crazy to read an article that is stuffed full of the pronoun "we".
I realize that the editorial use of "we" makes things less personal, but it also tends to imply that the decisions or observations are made by committee.
Just my 2 cents.
NASCAR drivers also tend to speak in "we" which has always driven me crazy, too.
This is by no means a personal afront, please don't take it that way. It's just one of the journalistic styles I'm not fond of.

It pained me to write - I mean, I could use I (and I may have a couple times), but we're trying to give the appearance of a big legit news organization here :p.

I'll kick it around with @Brent_Justice and see if we *cough* should change directions. Have you seen "I" pronouns used a lot in the places you normally visit or is it all cheese grater "we"?

I don't know if I approve of steering this topic away from porn... But since we are here.

"We" isn't inappropriate, in my opinion. Nascar drivers use it because they want to emphasize the team effort - the driver is obviously the one on camera, but it takes a whole team of people to get that car around the track and into the Winner's Circle, the driver is only the most visible.

Same goes with this web site, I'm sure. That being said, when you are writing an article about personal experience, and you are the only person present... then "I" would be appropriate - you were the only one there and it was your singular experience and observation that you are documenting. For something like a big review, where a lot of people helped out (benchmarking, editing, publishing, pic/video, etc), then We would be more appropriate in the main body, and "I" only where discussing objective details and caveat-ed and identified as the author's unique experience... unless you listen to my 6th Grade English teacher, who said you should avoid first person references in a technical document in the first place.

I'm totally for haptic feedback for VR as long as it comes in super fat *** sizes. I'll pay extra.

I'm in the ballpark of 250 pounds and I'd say there's not much more slack in it (it is very adjustable). They remarked it was sized for a Korean person - so I suppose they may consider a 'murrica size variant....

Thank you for not taking this personally.
I was by no means trolling you.
I know Kyle Bennett used to use "we" all the time in his editorials and articles and it drove me crazy.

Personally, I think using the first person to emphasize your own impressions is fully acceptable.
If there was a group effort, identify the group and then use we, I guess......I just can't take getting saturated with "we".

To answer your question, yes, most writers do use "we". Guru3D however tends to use a writing style that is really a nice middle ground.
He rarely uses pronouns at all........but generally does not shy away from "I" and only scatters in "we".

Thanks again for taking time to discuss this.

I'm 240'ish (yay Keto ..was 285'ish) .. did the vest seem too short as well as a bit snug? I would assume that you'd "feel" more in the back area sitting than you would standing .. do they take that into account in the settings/intensity from like a VR title (standing) vs an fps title (sitting in a chair)..?

I don't remember having thoughts about it being too short, and on the snug side, it was a comfortable fit. The sides are held together by two fairly large velcro straps, so that basically resizes it when you put it on. According to their website, they'll sell/give you strap extenders if you need to go larger.

For the intensity, I don't think I was sitting against the back of the chair when playing and they said that the intensity was turned up all the way on the PC one, but may not have been on the VR demo (didn't verify that).

I'd be concerned what the smell factor would be on that thing in a few months time (or how far we can go with washing it).

Hopefully next year's CES will have a pants version to try out.

There's a washable inner liner...

Heeey congrats on the loss. I lost 50-60 lb one time back in the day (that has almost all come back because...food) and it's not easy.

I had lost 50lbs before through blood sweat and tears ..cardio cardio cardio (and not eating junk food) .. but gained it all back and then some .. I still work out (mostly meat and potato lifting with bench, squat, deadlifts instead of eliptical all the time and crossfit type workouts), but changing my whole diet (not just cutting out junk food) is how I lost it this time and is much more manageable pushing senior status at 50 years old now.

..and yeah, food can be a real femal dog 🐶
