Hayley Atwell to Voice Lara Croft for Netflix’s Tomb Raider Anime Series

Netflix announced that it was developing a new anime series based on Square Enix’s Tomb Raider franchise back in January. The company has now revealed that Hayley Atwell will be lending her voice for the franchise’s iconic adventurer, Lara Croft.



Atwell is best known for her role as Dr. Margaret Elizabeth “Peggy” Carter in many of Marvel Studios’ Captain America films. The actress can also be heard in the new hypothetical Disney+ show What If!, the first season of which revolves around Peggy becoming the first Super Soldier instead of Steve Rogers.



“Netflix’s upcoming TOMB RAIDER anime series from Powerhouse Animation picks up after the event of Square Enix’s video game reboot trilogy, and will follow Atwell’s Lara Croft in her latest, greatest adventure,” the company tweeted.

Agreed. I'm a little bummed that the actress from the games won't be voicing her as I did like her rendition but it's understandable that Netflix would want star power and Hayley is pretty well known within geek circles at this point. I think she'll do great and already sounds very similar as is.

I don't know why, but when I heard Lara's voice in the recent games all I could think was "this voice does not fit with the char" n,o idea why but there you go.
