Intel’s 14 nm Rocket Lake-S CPUs Going Up Against AMD’s Ryzen 5000 Series (Zen 3) in March 2021

VideoCardz has learned that Intel is planning to launch its 11th Gen Core series, Rocket Lake-S, in March 2021. While the anticipation for these chips seems lukewarm (they’re still stuck on the aging 14 nm process, after all), the platform does introduce a couple of benefits for Intel enthusiasts. One of the biggest is legitimate PCIe 4.0 support, which was axed from the current generation (Comet Lake-S) due to signal/jitter issues.



A leaked diagram also shows that the Rocket Lake-S platform will boast increased DDR4 memory speeds, additional PCIe lanes, discrete Intel Thunderbolt 4 support, as well as new overclocking features and capabilities. Intel’s 11th Gen Core processors will also feature iGPUs based on the company’s latest graphics architecture, Xe.
