Intel has revealed that the Core i9-9900KS will be available for purchase beginning Oct. 30. As expected, the 5.0 GHz all-core CPU won't come cheap: its recommended pricing begins at $513. Interested parties may want to grab one straight away, with it being a limited-time product.

Gamers and overclocking enthusiasts will be able to take performance to the max with the 9th Gen Intel Core i9-9900KS Special Edition processor. Only select chips from Intel wafers can achieve this specification to run up to 5.0 GHz all-core turbo. Quantity is limited for this special edition product.

Apparently this may require a BIOS update. Kinda odd for a binned CPU. See gigabytes BIOS page for z390 boards.

Since my Gigabyte Z370 supports a 9900K I wonder if it would support this CPU? Really don't see myself upgrading to this but still wonder.

Not the best price but not the worst either. Although with those skylake X discounts around the corner it's hard to say which is truly the better deal.
