The layoffs are expected to happen globally, and are said to reduce its total staff from 110,000 to 100,000, and only include Intel's core business and not any of its subsidiaries such as Altera FPGA. This step, should it be taken, will follow another in 2023 (per TechPowerUp) where it reduced staffing from 124,800 to the current count of 110,000.

This must result from them releasing the AI chips...they are replacing manpower with those.

(Sorry, sorry--this is a horrible situation for those 10,000 being laid off...never wish that on anyone. I felt like bashing intel this week.)

I see a lawsuit in their future. Hate to see anyone lose their job, especially if it has to do with higher ups business practices.
