Intel has announced its new series of Xeon W-3400 and W-2400 desktop workstation processors. Code-named Sapphire Rapids and built for professional creators, the new CPUs are led by the Xeon w9-3495X, Intel’s most powerful desktop workstation processor ever designed, featuring 56 cores, 112 threads, boost clocks of up to 4.8 GHz, and an RCP of $5,889. Platform features include DDR5 RDIMM memory, PCIe Gen 5.0, and Wi-Fi 6E, while benchmarks in a Media Brief tease performance gains as high as 140%.
