LG Developing Way of Boosting OLED TV Brightness to 1,200 Nits

OLED TVs blow away other display technologies on just about every level aside from peak nits, but LG's engineers have reportedly found a way to narrow the gap with a new technology that could lead to higher brightness levels.

I don't know... I'm wondering that is going to be eye searingly bright.

Mine only can hit 700 or so, and when it does that it's holey sheet bright.

Problem with my older LG isn't peak brightness at all - it can certainly hit it. It's sustained brightness that makes it look dim in a brightly lit room.

That's why QD-OLED is better. Less filtering allowing for higher sustained brightness without driving the OLED's harder.
