Lian Li has been refining its desk-as-PC-case concept for years, and the latest iteration keeps the hardware the same while upgrading what you actually rest your arms on. The DK-07 WOOD launches today with a real walnut wood tabletop in place of the standard brushed aluminum lid, and it hits shelves at the exact same […]

Lian Li isn’t charging a premium for the privilege, at least not a separate one.

hahahaha that is exactly what i was thinking

I've seen quite a few desk-as-PCs online over the last couple decades or so, and I always kinda wanted one, but I don't actually want one. Way too expensive, and not exactly very portable, but man they always look f*cking nice. Especially the ones with watercooling going on. This one here is the first one I've seen that uses wood.

I've had the DK-05 as my daily driver for a pair of systems for over 5 years at this this point. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the approach.

The wood variant seems interesting - I just don't know what I'd do with the current desk....

not exactly very portable,
That's my numero uno.

Though I guess it depends on how the thing comes apart, and whether it's rugged enough to come apart and be put back together again more than once.

I also think I wouldn't like a desk that thick - seems like it would mess with posture a bit. I'd be more okay with it if the systems were the back half of the desk.

Also it needs like five mounts for monitor arms and speaker stands. And like three or more wireless charging pads. I wish I had the building skills to put together what I'd want...
