Despite earning generally favorable reviews and even a “best narrative” trophy at the 2021 Game Awards, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy may not be getting a sequel anytime soon, according to a new financial report from Square Enix that reveals the publisher is not entirely pleased with the money that Eidos-Montréal’s action-adventure game has generated thus far. While there’s no real indication of how many copies Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy has managed to sell since its release in October 2021, Square Enix has publicly stated in its 3Q FY2022/3 Financial Results Briefing that the game “undershot” its initial expectations. I have to wonder what they were experiencing. Makes me want to see to be honest. But not enough to buy the game. I'll wait until it's free on epic games or something.

I really enjoyed the game. I even did a 2nd playthrough not long after the 1st just to explore it a little more. That being said, it's not for everyone. It took me a little while to get used to the voiceovers but once I did I really got into it. Visually the IQ ranges from meh to really good. The soundtrack(another item that probably cost them some money) was awesome. The downside is that you probably have to be a fan of the comic/movies in order to really appreciate it.

I picked it up for $20 during the winter EGS sales. Haven’t finished my play through though - it has issues with controller support

Game is only worth about $20. It's just OK, not great. I bought it for $40, played it, sold it for $25 or 30.
