Marvel Studios released its latest film, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, on September 3, 2021. Despite being the 25th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it appears that audiences can’t get enough of superheroes.



Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has earned $71.4 million at the domestic box office since its debut on Friday. According to estimates provided by Deadline and Variety, that figure is expected to grow to $83.5 million by the end of the Labor Day weekend, with worldwide earnings reaching $139.7 million.



The numbers are not only positive but surprising, as initial estimates had Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings earning between $45 million to $50 million in its opening weekend. Nice spin job. Black Widow was already an underwhelming launch, and this earned less than it, despite not being on streaming.
 
I found it surprisingly good. It now ranks among the best in the MCU, in my opinion, up there with the original Iron Man and Winter Soldier.
